About FONiC Trust
FONIC Trust was established in 2005. Founded with the purpose of supporting faith communities across Nepal and its diaspora. It is registered with the Charity Commission Northern Ireland No. NIC100520 and registered with Companies House UK as a Company Limited by Guarantee with no share dividend No. NI055292.
The Trust does not work in isolation and has built partnerships with a range of local Nepali organisations, and communities and donors in the UK and Europe.

- Community .. We believe that community is the ideal and primary means established for the development of individuals and families.

Things we do
FONIC Trust was founded in May 2005. Its founders have had a lifetime of involvement in health and development in Nepal. Having spent a number of years in both rural development and international funding working with one of Nepali’s oldest INGOs they considered it timely to establish a UK registered charity.
Since it was established the Trust has been involved in a wide variety of community based initiatives:

Income generation
Partnered with a faith based NGO to establish an income generating project.

Equipment provision
Partnered with a Nepali NGO to provide equipment for a rural community hospital.

Education scholarships
Partnered with a local NGO to provide scholarships for underprivileged young people entering third level education.

Wheelchair workshop
Assisted a local partner NGO to establish Kathmandu’s first ever Wheelchair Repair Workshop.

Education first
Assisted poor families with education fees.

Flood relief
Provided support to a rural community in Far West Nepal to rebuild their village following floods that destroyed their homes.

Nurse training
The provision of nurse training based in a community hospital in West Nepal.

Established community agricultural enterprise
Established a community based agricultural business working with deprived communities across Nepal.

Entrepreneurship
Assisted a Nepali entrepreneur to establish a guest facility in Kathmandu.

NGO partnerships
Partnered with a local NGO working with people with physical disabilities to establish a rehabilitation farm.

Nepali translation
Partnered with a range of community based organisations to translate and distribute quality faith based educational materials.

Partnered with an established Nepali NGO providing income generation training
